South of Lohagad is a striking monument, the Tunga Fort bounded by the Pawna Dam. To get here, take the train to Kamshet and then a bus to Pawna. There’s a ferry service to take you across to the hill, from where you start tour trek to the fort. The lush countryside makes for a pleasant trek, even though the climb is a bit steep. The conical peak restricts the width of the fort, but was good enough for use as a watchtower. Picnic around the ruins of the Mahadeo temple and soak in the enchanting views of the neighbouring forts and ranges.
