Rajmachi fort

Rajmachi fort is a short 20 km trek from Lonavala and looks down to deep wooded valleys on three sides. Nearer to Karjat, you can take the 15 minute bus ride to Khandpe and trek up to Udhewadi village which will take around 3 hours

Rajmachi has quite a few attractions for the trekker. It has two forts a kilometer apart from each other, the Shrivardhan and the Manoranjan. The semi-circular Shrivardhan Fort on the eastern flanks of Rajmachi has an ancient temple dedicated to Bhairon Nath. The temple leads to the ruins of the Manoranjan Fort which has a square shaped lake separated by a line of rocks. The fort affords a panoramic view of Visapur, Lohagad, Tungi, Korigad and Nagphani.

Facing the fort is the Rajmachi Point or Rock Garden. The Buddhist caves near Kondivde can be visited too. Interestingly, these caves also have some carvings of Lord Ganesha.
